Beliche Beach

Beliche Beach - Sagres
This is a beach sheltered from the winds north and west, inserted in the wide
inlet defined by Ponta de Sagres and Cabo de S. Vicente. The beach seems to have
been excavated in the high cliffs and warm colours, and to achieve the sand is
needed down a huge staircase of stone. Along the stairway, you can enjoy the
many endemic plants that colonize the limestone pavement (rock very cut by
erosion) and the red of rossa soil, and the steep limestone very stratified and
cut, with its caves and spectacular colapses. Already in the sand remains a
great diversity of rocks very cut and carved, with curious ways. It is a very
sought beach for surfing and bodyboard.
Notes: Since we are in full Reserve Biodiversity, is strictly prohibited the
collection of plants, which is vital to the preservation of this area. The road
movement should take place away from the edge of the cliff, given the
possibility of destabilization and collapse of "arriba".
