Ponta Ruiva Beach - Sagres
The
beach owes its name to a huge ochre color in the extreme south of the beach,
next to which they form a wave famous among surfers. The shades of red rock
formation contrasts sharply with the black of the high cliffs surrounding "xistosas".
The pedestrian access to the beach is made through a trail of medium difficulty,
which descends to a place with cliff slopes smoother. The beach is very quiet,
without human brands, was the smell is intense and can be seen from juniper
shrubs endemic, covered by persistent strong winds, and near the beach, plants
resistant to "salsugem". A small line of water cuts the rocky wall of the cliff
and flows in the wet sand at the time. On the way to the beach you can keep a
close eye on "cartaxos" (small birds landend in high branch), and birds of prey,
particularly hawks.
Notes: In the sand-filled trip becomes narrow and landslides may occur in rocks,
it is recommended attention to the track near the cliffs.
